Customarily, one thinks of adaptive statistics only in the context of clinical trials. However, clinical trials are just one field of statistics in which adaptive designs are applied. Actually, adaptive methods can be found in all fields of statistics, like sampling surveys, time series analysis, generalized linear models, decision theory, design of experiments, biostatistics, among others. The objective of this book is to present the theory and methodology of stage wise adaptive designs in all applicable fields of statistics.
