IFRS-Wörterbuch/Dictionary: englisch-deutsch / deutsch-englisch : glossar / glossary
Wulf, Inge
Jermakowicz, Eva K.
For many users, the application of IFRS becomes difficult since standards areoriginally written in English and not translated into German until publication. Therefore, German accountants have to cope with a huge number of English technical terms while trying to deal with drafts of new or revised standards. The English original could also be consulted in the case of translation obscurities. The IFRS dictionary is more than a traditional dictionary containing translations. Additionally, the respective terms are glossary-like explained and annotated with cross-references to related or explanatory terms. The dictionaryis designed for both directions (English-German, German-English). This helps both kinds of users: the second language speakers having to deal with English standard texts as well as the users trying to translate German terms into English (for example in order to prepare an annual report). Not least for the Anglophone readers just used as glossary, the book represents an essential ease ofwork.
