During the last decades, the monitoring and modelling of various geodynamic processes have gained ever increasing importance. In particular, temporal variations of the deformation and gravity fields recorded by new types of geodetic measuring techniques and reflecting isostatic, tectonic or volcanic processes in the earth's interior as well as climatologically induced changes on its surface have opened new avenues. The present volume succeeds a similar topical volume published in 2007 and reflects the most recent developments in these fields of research. Part of the papers in this book were presented at the second workshop on 'Deformation and Gravity Change: Indicators of Isostasy, Tectonics,Volcanism and Climate Change' that took place at the Casa de los Volcanes on Lanzarote, Spain, during March 27-30, 2007. It was jointly organized and supported by the International Association of Geodesy (IAG), the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science, the Spanish Council for Scientific Research and the Cabildo Insular de Lanzarote. The workshop also served as the second meeting ofthe members of the IAG Working Group ICCT2 on 'Dynamic Theories of Deformation and Gravity Fields'. Leading experts describe major developments in geodynamics Views on internal and surface processes of the earth INDICE: Semi-analytical solution for viscoelastic relaxation in eccentrically nested spheres induced by surface toroidal traction.- Application of a numerical inverse Laplace integration method to surface loading on a viscoelasic compressible earth model.- Variability of the gravity-to-height ratio due to surface loads.- A geodetic view on isostatic models.- Constraints on glacial isostatic adjustment from GOCE and sea level data.- Temporal gravity variations near shrinking Vatnajökull ice cap, Iceland.- Glacio-isostatic adjustment in the Po plain and in the northern Adriatic region.- Bounds on the time-history and Holocene mass budget of Antarctica from sea-level records in SE Tunisia.- Effects of earth’s lateral inhomogeneous structures on co-seismic gravity changes.- Sardinia coastal uplift and volcanism.- Co-seismic three dimensional displacements determined using SAR data: theory and an application test.- Analysisof ground deformation detected using the SBAS-DInSAR technique in Umbria, central Italy.- Geodetic and structural research in La Palma, Canary Island, Spain: 1992-2007 results.- The large Ring Laser G for continuous earth rotation monitoring.- Earth rotation observed by Very Long Baseline Interferometry and Ring Laser.- GPS monitoring of the tropical storm Delta along the Canary Islandstrack, November 28-29, 2005.
