She was the director of the Instructional Development Program at Pennsylvania State University for ten years and served as associate director at the National Center on Postsecondary Teaching, Learning, and Assessment, a five-year, $5.9 million, U. S. Department of Education research and development center.Weimer has served on the editorial boards of four journals, and has consultedwith over 175 colleges and universities on instructional issues. Since 1990, she has delivered keynotes at eight national meetings and seven regional conferences. For more than a decade she has edited The Teaching Professor, a monthly newsletter on college teaching with 14,000 subscribers.
