Material Properties of Steel Fire Conditions is a major new contribution to understanding materials properties of steel in fires. The application of new types of steel has grown dramatically in recent years, accompanied by the development of sophisticated codes of practice such as specification for design of high strength steel structures. Under fire conditions, knowing the material properties of steel is essential for fire resistance design of steel structures in current fire design code, such as Eurocode3. Only mild steel properties are provided. This book shows that the reduction factors of mechanical properties of different steels are quite different. In recent years, the authors of this book have carried out significant testing on the material properties of several types of steels, such as Q460 steel, Q690 steel and A992 steel, etc. These new test data and relations of material properties of steel with temperature are useful to engineers in evaluating fire resistance of steel structures adopting new types of steels. Deals with the material properties of steels in fire conditions, including thermal properties and mechanical properties, such as thermal conductivity, strength, elastic modulus and creep behaviorProvides basic knowledge to perform fire resistance design of steel structuresPresents information useful to designers, researches and students who must conduct fire resistance design or perform structural analyses on high strength steel structures INDICE: 1. Introduction 2. Test method 3. Thermal properties of steel at elevated temperature 4. Tensile test of steel at elevated temperatures 5. Tensile test of steel after fire exposure 6. Creep test of steel at elevated temperatures 7. Research prospect and future work
