Neutron optics describes the theory and applications of the wave behaviour ofneutrons. Neutrons, like all other particles including photons, can be assigned a particles as well as a wave character. Understanding of the interactions of these waves with material is necessary, just like in the case of X-rays, touse neutron beams and neutron beam spectroscopy for investigation and manipulation of material for various purposes.
