The challenge of democratic representation in theEuropean Union
What does political representation in the European Union look like? This volume argues that the transformation of representation in the EU is characterizedby diversification processes, albeit with an uncertain ability to re-configure the link between representation and democracy. SANDRA KRÖGER Researcher and Lecturer at the University of Bremen, Germany. From 2011-2013 she is a Marie Curie fellow at the University of Exeter, UK. She has widely published on the Open Method of Coordination. Her current research interest is the reconfiguration of democracy in the EU in general, and theplace of organized civil society therein in particular. DAWID FRIEDRICH Assistant Professor for International Relations at the Center for the Study of Democracy at Leuphana University, Lüneburg, Germany. He is particularly interestedin the future of European democracy through civil society participation and citizen deliberation practices. He recently published a book on democratic participation and civil society in the European Union.
