Statistical analysis of designed experiments: Theory and Applications
Tamhane, Ajit C.
The primary goal of this book is to provide a modern and balanced coverage ofthe design of experiments methodology (planning and analysis) including the underlying theory and applications using real data. The secondary goal is to demonstrate the wide-ranging applicability of the design of experiments methodology from the traditional areas of applications such as agriculture, biology, engineering, and psychology to the relatively new areas of applications such aseducation, marketing, and medicine. The approach is model-based. Discussion of each new design and its analysis begins with the specification of the underlying model and assumptions. This is followed by inference methods (ANOVA, tests and confidence intervals) including residual analyses for model diagnostics.Appropriate graphics accompany each analysis. The use of two software packages (Minitab and JMP) is emphasized for performing analyses.
