This book reflects the increasing trend of applying digital technology to psychological treatment, focusing here specifically on eating disorders. It views these disorders on a continuum from healthy eating to disordered eating, thus providing a perspective within which to place concepts of study and intervention. Proceeding from broader issues of eating behavior in its first section, to eating disorders and technological treatments in its second section, this book aims at both the understanding of this difficult problem as well as providing insights into the technology that can be employed in its amelioration. Using the most up-to-date research findings, and including client and therapist interviews, this is the first book to bring together a penetrating view of eating behavior and how technology from computers to cell phones is intertwined with understanding and treatment.
