Membrane reactors: distributing reactants to improve selectivity and yield
Seidel-Morgenstern, Andreas
This authoritative work encompasses a broad treatment of the field, includingthe basic principles of membrane reactors, a comparative study of these and other classical reactors, modelling, industrial applications, and emerging applications, all based on case studies and model reactions. The significant progress achieved in the last year in this modern field of chemical reaction engineering is summarized in a competent manner. The novice can grasp the elementaryconcepts and the professional can familiarize himself with the most recent developments in the area. For the industrial practitioner the book covers all important current and potential future applications.Prof. Seidel-Morgenstern received his Ph.D. in 1987 at the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences in Berlin. Between 1991 and 1992 he worked as postdoctoral fellow at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. In 1994 he finished his habilitation at the Technical University in Berlin. Since 1995 he is Professor of Chemical Process Engineering at the Otto von Guericke University in Magdeburg. In 2002 he was appointed as Director at the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems in Magdeburg. His research interests are reaction engineering, heterogeneous catalysis and separation processes.
