This book presents the fundamental chemistry and corresponding process technology for producing synthetic fuels (primarily diesel and naptha) using Fischer-Tropsch chemistry. The book documents the development of the original chemistry, the historical background of the application of the chemistry, and currentdevelopments in the process technology. It compares the resulting fuel production quality and quantities when using coal versus natural gas as the primary feedstock. It then presents the current state of the art for proprietary licensed process technologies available for commercial production of Fischer-Tropsch fuels with sections dedicated to process technologies available from leadingoil companies.
