This book analyzes privatization in Ireland, a European economy that has experienced rapidly changing fortunes over the last thirty years. It examines the effects of privatization in terms of corporate performance, public finances and the distributional aspects of privatization including the impact on employment and share ownership. DÓNAL PALCIC is a Lecturer in the Department of Economics, University of Limerick. His research interests include privatisation, public sector reform, telecommunications policy and productivity analysis. He has published a number of refereed journal articles and book chapters on the topic of privatisation. EOIN REEVES is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Economics, University of Limerick. His research interests focus on the economics of the public sector and public sector reform. He has published articles in Public Administration, Telecommunications Policy, Economics and Industrial Democracy, The Annals of Public and Cooperative Economics and Public Money and Management.
