Negotiating multicultural Europe: borders, networks, neighbourhoods
This book examines neighbourhoods and networks between the diverse people of contemporary Europe who live in a globalized and globalizing world, across different types of borders: physical and mental, geopolitical and symbolic. HEIDI ARMBRUSTER is a Social Anthropologist and Lecturer in German and Transnational Studies at the University of Southampton, UK. Her research and publications have focused on borders, migration and diaspora issues. She has recently edited 'Taking Sides: Ethics, Politics and Fieldwork in Anthropology'. . ULRIKE HANNA MEINHOF is Professor of German and Cultural Studies and Director of the Centre for Transnational Studies at the University of Southampton, UK. Her research and publications, including 'Language of Belonging' (with D. Galasinski) and 'Cultural Globalization and Music' (with N. Kiwan), combine ethnography with discourse analysis in transnational contexts in Europe and Africa.
