E.O. Wilson and B.F. Skinner: a dialogue between sociobiology and radical behaviorism
Naour, P.
It intends to push readers to consider the wider-ranging implications of viewing all behavior through an evolutionary lens. Several preliminary readers have characterized it, in the end, as an idea book. Finally, it can provide students and scholars in biology, ethology, psychology, anthropology, sociology andeconomics a strong foundation in twentieth century history and systems. It has a significant academic market. E.O. (Ed) Wilson’s comment after he read an early draft of the book was: “What you've written is excellent, and will be an outstanding addition to the history of ideas. It will put Fred Skinner back inthe pantheon and, providing context, serve as an excellent introduction to the content and central truths in radical behaviorism. Needless to say, I’m alsograteful to have my work following Sociobiology given proper attention.” Wilson is featured today, July 15th, 2008 in the New York Times Science Times for Sociobiology and Evolution.
