Sediments are a problem in many aquatic systems. Their transportation and deposition has significant implication on morphology of water bodies, navigability in channels, and water quality. Understanding the dynamics of sediment transportation in time and space is therefore important in drawing interventions and making management decisions. In this thesis the role of sediment transport in irrigation channels is investigated.
