RESPACE - key technologies for reusable space systems: results of a virtual institute programme of the German Helmholtz-Association, 2003 - 2007
Gülhan, A.
This volume contains the main results of the three years study (2003 - 2007) of the Virtual Institute RESPACE (Key Technologies for Re-Usable Space Systems), consisting of three DLR departments and four institutes of the RWTH Aachen, the University of Stuttgart and the Technical University München. The nine topics treated with a multidisciplinary numerical and experimental approach are systems aspects of advanced space transportation vehicles, vehicle base flow, propulsion jet and external flow interaction, active cooling of hot structures, film cooling and its influence on boundary-layer flow. Covers Key Technologies for Re-Usable Space Systems INDICE: System Aspects of Advanced Space Transportation Systems.- Large-Eddy Simulation of the Base Flow of the Reference Space Vehicle Configuration.- Large-Eddy Simulation of the Nozzle Jet and the External Flow Interaction.- Experimental Study of the Base Flow of the Reference Space Vehicle Configuration.- Application of Active Cooling Concepts for Hot Structures.- Qualification of Active Cooling Concepts in Ground Facilities.- Experimental Study of Active Cooling Concepts for Hypersonic Flight.- Numerical Investigation on Film Cooling Concepts and their Influence on the on the Boundary-Layer Flow.
