Urban logistics is a complex field that can be difficult to understand. Even though the issues involved have been well known for several years, industrial and regulatory contexts have evolved, thereby leading to the emergence of new challenges. The authors of this book describe these new challenges, providing an educational tool for engineering and management schools for an efficient implementation of urban logistics. It contains the knowledge and experience gathered by experts in the field over the last 15 years. Since this is a relatively recent topic of interest for the scientific community, and since an impressive number of experiments have been launched by private parties, this book provides a review of urban logistics, browsing the different fields developed, presenting the possible actions to be implemented to improve the system, and exploring the methods already implemented, while using concrete examples and presenting new advances in the field.
