This book provides an introduction to version 7.0 of symbolic computation software Mathematica¿. The text is addressed to all those who want to start usingthis software, but especially to the students of the Faculty of Business Administration and Management and other related Bachelor's Degrees having their teaching in English. The book consists of two parts. The first one entitled Introduction to Mathematica, introduces the main commands of the software, including: basic arithmetic, linear algebra, resolution of equations, limits, derivatives and integration of functions, difference equations, ordinary differentialequations, 2D and 3D graphics. The book also includes a brief introduction toprogramming. The second part of the text, entitled How is it done ?, shows a simple and direct collection of examples that attempt to illustrate the application of the commands presented in the first part of the text.
