A Primer on Global Society and the Processes of Globalization examines the institutional structure of global society and the processes of globalization associated with each structure. The functionalists have used the structural-functional formulation for the analysis of national societies as large systems consisting of either tightly or loosely interconnected and interdependent subsystems. The systemic analogy has not been applied to examine the interdependent nature of contemporary world society as proposed here.
